Alba Soccer is a family club. Coach Mateo’s first year training players was in 1999. His son, Coach Jens, was one of his first players.

Mission Statement

Every weekend we offer 60 minutes of instruction to familiarize the beginners with basic rules and fundamentals of soccer followed by controlled scrimmages. We are committed to helping each kid reach their full potential by providing personal attention, skill development, and quality instructions.

Our objective is to help all players reach their highest potential. We start them on the right path, set their dreams in motion, fire up their imagination, and empower them to reach their goals. Our coaches are master teachers whose demonstrations include demanding instruction, step-by-step clarification, and playful joking to bring out the most sensitive technical points for children to grasp and imitate. They have a great understanding cognitive, social and motor development of youth, knowledge about components of physical fitness and appropriate training principles, knowledge of sport and environmental activities including skills, rules, officiating techniques for a variety of activities. Creating a warm, supportive atmosphere for children and seeing as role models, our coaches are good leaders for our program.

We provide children with the opportunity to participate in a soccer experience where they can develop positive self-esteem and build character by learning the virtues of hard work, respect, honesty, self-control, teamwork, and sportsmanship. To achieve these objectives Alba Soccer encourages its coaches to adopt a philosophy that seeks to achieve for the players the following:

  • To have fun.

  • To develop sportsmanship and team play.

  • To respect coaches, teammates, opponents and the laws of the game.

  • To learn the meaning of dedication and to experience the relationship between effort and results.

  • To learn soccer; individual skills, small group tactics, and team tactics, so that each player and his or her team can become the best that they are capable of becoming.

  • To engage in healthy competition.

What to bring

We ask that all players wear a dark colored t-shirt (navy blue or black), athletic shorts and sneakers. Please do not bring cleats!! We are in an indoor gymnasium with wood floor. Soccer shoes are best. Tennis shoes are ok. Basketball shoes are decent but will restrict the ankle’s movement and raise the foot too high off the ground.

Is your child ready?
